Tuition FAQ

What Is an 'Intro Class?'

An 'Intro Class' is the first class which is delivered to new clients for free. You, then, have the possibility to observe and actively participate in the class, test my method and find out for yourselves if you are satisfied with my teaching and whether you would like to continue the classes. In addition, should you have any questions regarding the classes or the organisation of the tuition, I will answer them at this point.

How Long Does a Class Last?

A standard class takes 90 minutes (without a break). Depending on your needs, we may make the classes longer or shorter, of course, but the length of the classes should not drop below 60 minutes. The reasoning goes that the productivity would decrease significantly as well.

How Often Do Classes Take Place?

Commonly, classes take place at least twice a week. It is, of course, possible to arrange for special provisions depending on your specific needs and time constraints.

When Do the Classes Take Place?

Classes may take place from Monday to Friday, from 7.00 am to 9.00 pm. If so agreed, the classes may be held at the weekend (Saturday, Sunday) as well.

When Can You Cancel Classes?

A class may be cancelled or rescheduled following a mutual agreement between the students and the teacher. Any suggestions either to cancel or to reschedule the classes need to be communicated to the other party at least three hours before the beginning of the classes. The preferred form of communication is the mobile as I may not be able to check my emails at all times.

The same terms and conditions for cancelling and rescheduling classes apply to myself as well, for instance, in case of sickness.

What Is the Maximum Number of Students?

There are no quantitative constraints on the number of students attending the classes, ie the client may freely decide how many students shall attend a course. It is, however, strongly recommended that the total not exceed ten, as the quality of such classes may suffer accordingly.

What Are My Responsibilities?

Apart from organising and delivering the classes, my responsibilities include:

- making sure students receive their work material on time (the costs of text books   may be included in the first invoice for our classes or charged separately)

- preparing and handling any and all examination material (eg placement tests,         progress tests, exam tests)

- monitoring students' progress

- safekeeping of tests (on request)

- monitoring students' attendance

- informing the client about the progress of the course, the students' results and       attendance

What Is the Price of a Class?

Class prices are based on several criteria, including:

a) Type of Course -- General English, Business English, etc.

b) Number of Students

c) Number of Classes Held per Week

d) When Classes Are Held -- working days v weekends

The calculated price for General English courses is a little cheaper than Business English, though the difference is slim indeed. All other courses are priced the same way as General English.

The higher the number of students, the lower the price of the course per student. The set price, however, remains unchanged regardless of how many students actually come to the classes, ie if the course is frequented, say, by ten students, but only one comes to a particular class, the sum total charged for the class shall remain the same as if all ten students actually attended the particular class.

Provided a high number of classes (14 standard classes per week at least) is contractually agreed on in a given company, a quantity discount may be offered.

Classes held at the weekends are invoiced with a mild extra charge for work performed during antisocial hours and days.
