The aim of these seminars is to develop the attendees' receptive and productive skills (reading and listening, speaking and writing respectively) required to master everyday communication in English, and thus gain the knowledge and confidence needed to become effective communicators in their daily lives.
The areas of study covered in the seminars include:
- Reading
- Listening
- Use of English
- Speaking
- Writing
Naturally, major emphasis is put on speaking and listening as these skills are essential to mastering the day-to-day communication as well as any further studies the students might want to pursue in the English language.

Macmillan Glossaries give you the chance to download English-Slovak vocabulary lists which you may use as supplementary study material, for instance, when revising key English and/or Slovak words and phrases which we studied in the classes.
The Macmillan Online Dictionary presents an excellent e-learning opportunity for anybody eager to master English. - Placement Test
The Placement Test will determine your current level of knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary with the aim of placing you in the right CEF level, ie course.
The test is composed of 75 questions in total and has a 30-minute time limit.
The results are based on the standards of the Common European Framework (CEF) and go as follows:
CEF Level A1 .................................. 0 -- 15 pts
CEF Level A2 .................................. 16 -- 30 pts
CEF Level B1 .................................. 31 -- 45 pts
CEF Level B2 .................................. 46 -- 60 pts
CEF Level C1 .................................. 61 -- 75 pts
